WITH YOUR SUPPORT, WE DID IT!
A highway widening project in Sioux Center, Iowa is officially off the table.
The Iowa Department of Transportation Commission met Tuesday, and pulled the $3.4 million dollars set aside in fiscal year 2015 to widen Highway 75 through Sioux Center.
That money will be put into another project scheduled for 2015.
DOT officials say the city of Sioux Center originally requested the funds for the project, but then a few weeks ago pulled their support for the project. Tuesday, the commission pulled the funds, but DOT planner Dakin Schultz says they encouraged the city to re-apply for money in the future, if they are able to work out plans for the project with the community.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING RESPONSIBLE GROWTH IN SIOUX CENTER!
